Aurora is a 2.5 year-old, shepherd/collie/husky mix, looking for a family who is ready to go on lots of adventures and take on the world. She has medium-high energy and loves to play tug of war, fetch, run loose at dog-friendly trails and parks, wrestle with big puppies - you name it, Aurora is game. She is also quite the agility-dog, clearing 2-3 feet fences with a single bound, and will bolt the moment you let her off-leash. Aurora is a big-time runner, so an owner who runs, or the ability to be let off-leash, will help get the energy out.
Consistency and regular activity is key to keeping Aurora happy. She is a smart and mischievous puppers who will explore parts of the home when left unattended, and the more pent-up energy she has, the more likely she is to cause mischief. However, regular and a fair amount of activity
Because of her mix, she has higher maintenance needs. She will need to be brushed regularly as her fur can get matted easily. She is not a huge fan of being brushed, but previous fosters have had success with the brush glove, and once she is bonded to you, will tolerate a brushing. She enjoys being patted down with a towel and will give you little kisses of appreciation while you dry her paws.
Likes - peanut butter, meaty bones, fish, treats, denta stix, squeaky toys, rope for tug of war, running off-leash, belly rubs, and getting her hind legs / butt scratched (lots of fur back there!), giving very sweet, little kisses on your nose (it's the most adorable thing).
Dislikes - little dogs (they look too delicious to her and she can't help but turn on her hunter instincts. Better to keep separate), other animals on her turf or playing with her toys (very territorial). Aurora is also not a super cuddly dog, so while not a dislike necessarily, she likely won't be the kind of dog to cuddle up with you on the couch.
