What it means to foster a dog

When you foster, you agree to take a Black Dog Rescue dog into your home and provide love, care and attention, either for a predetermined period of time, or until the dog is adopted. As a foster parent, you help improve the life of a dog by providing training, guidance and socialization.

Black Dog Rescue provides all the tools necessary to care for your foster dog. We provide food, treats, toys, and accessories. Black Dog Rescue also covers all the vetting that the dog requires prior to adoption (vaccines, boosters, spay/neuter). We work closely with our fosters to provide support, tips and tools for training and behavioural issues, as well as nutritional guidance.

At this time we only accept cat-free fosters who reside in the GTA and surrounding areas.
